Print Gocco, Rodeo Pics, and an Apron

Printgocco Hooray!  My brand-spanking-new Print Gocco PG-5 arrived in the mail yesterday from Japan!  I was so excited to enter this (new to me) form of print-making.  There are so many people on the web singing its praises I just had to jump in and try it for myself.  Except, my kit only comes with enough screens and bulbs to make two masters, so I'll have to make sure my first efforts are good ones.  Hmmm...

Rodeo_1 I also finally remembered to pick up my photos from Dillons.  Sometimes I wonder why I bother to pay for one-hour photos when I almost always forget to pick them up until a day or two later?  In any case, I now have at least one picture of Christian in his rodeo duds.  This was his first Abbyville Rodeo Parade, and he enjoyed all of it except for the fire trucks blaring their horns and sirens.  He's sitting with Nana and Great-grandma Hoss and looking nice and cool.  For some reason, either the yellow fabric or the pattern caused people to think he was a little girl.  Sigh.

My neighbor Tony had asked me to create this apron for an elderly lady he calls "mom" at a local nursing home for her mother's day gift.  She had asked for something to wear over her clothes at dinner time.  I was happy to lend my limited skills, and she was happy to receive it.  Apparently, some of my trim started coming undone (how embarrassing!) but she was unconcerned, saying she'd just get out her needle and thread, bless her!

Not that I want to put any more emphasis on the trim coming away, but that is my worst nightmare. That I make something for someone and it falls apart. Not saying that your's fell apart, rather that I feel your embarrasment. I am going red as I type this. Very envious of your gocco too. Something I don't know alot about but see so many great things that people are doing with them. Thanks for stopping by my blog. A fat quarter is a quarter of a yard of fabric, but cut in a "square" rather than just a length. Does that make sense? Not very good at describing things !!!
